Sewing Classes
General Info:

These are one-off Project Classes. You pick the project you wish to try and come to the schueduled day for that project. You don't need to do all the classes.

All classes start at 5pm on the scheduled day.

Pre-wash and pre-cut your fabrics before class! No Exceptions! If you need assistance with cutting please come in early! If you show up without your fabric cut you may be turned away from class with no refund issued.

Classes run anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours generally, but they basically run as long as is needed for everyone to finish their projects.

For the kids’ classes, parents are more than welcome to stay and watch, or participate! These classes take anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.

There are sewing machines and sergers available to be used for classes, but if you have a machine please feel free to bring it! Sometimes it is easier to learn on a machine you are familiar with.

Classes are $60 plus materials, $40 for kids. If you buy the fabric at the store you get 15% off!

Classes are exchangeable, but not refundable.

Any no-shows will not be exchangeable.

*Notice must be given if you will miss your scheduled class or it will be considered a no-show.

*Notice must be given if you know will be a few minutes late.

*If you are more than 20 minutes late it is considered a no-show.

Pillowcase - easy
This is the easiest class! In the pillowcase class, kids will learn basic straight stitches on a sewing machine, as well as learning how to pin or clip fabric together, turn things right side out after sewing, and general sewing machine skills.
Good beginner class for kids aged 8+, with previous sewing machine experience
Intro to Machine Sewing - Pillowcase
A class for new sewists! Never touched a sewing machine before? This is the class for you! We’ll make a super simple pillowcase that is a great intro to sewing on a machine!
Basic Tote Bag - medium
In the tote bag class, kids will learn basic straight stitches and how to hem things as well, as learning how to pin or clip fabric together, turn things right side out after sewing, and general sewing machine skills. They will also learn how to do French seams.
Lined Tote Bag - medium
The tote bag is a great project for beginners. It covers basic skills such as pinning, interfacing use, topstitching, boxing corners, and turning, as well as basic sewing machine use.
Pajama Shorts/Pants – hard
In this class, the children will make comfy cotton pj shorts. There are some curved seams and a few hems in this project, so it’s a more advanced sewing project.
Family Pajama Pants - medium
The PJ pants are made from flannelette or quilting cotton so they are super comfy. The pattern includes kid and adult sizes and is a pretty good beginner project!
Lined Tote Bag - very hard
The lined tote bag covers basic skills such as pinning, interfacing use, topstitching, boxing corners, and turning, as well as basic sewing machine use. It's a very advanced project; for experienced kids only!
*Please be aware that an iron is sometimes used in this class! An adult can come for the class and use the iron instead, or the instructor can use the iron if you are not comfortable with your child using one!
Cocoon Cardigan - challenging
The cardigan is made using knit fabrics. It’s a simple project, great for people who haven’t sewn with knits much. There is the option of using a serger in this class. The pattern is customizable in a few ways such as length, sleeve lengths, and 2 styles of pockets.
High Hopes Dolman Shirt - challenging
This women’s dolman top is made with knit fabrics. It is a simple project, great for people who haven’t sewn with knits much. There is the option of using a serger in this class. This is a wide neck top, with a wide waistband and bat-wing style sleeves.
